Away from his work in Spokane, Keith Scribner enjoys watching movies, and one of his favorite movie series is The Terminator, starring action movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger. The second installment in the series, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, is 25 years old as of July 2016.
Released July 3, 1991, Terminator 2 is considered one of the best sequels in movie history. Directed by James Cameron, who also directed the first film, Terminator 2 broke from the typical sequel formula of rehashing the first movie’s plot on a larger scale.
While the first entry in the series saw lead character Sarah Connor running for her life from an evil, futuristic cyborg played by Schwarzenegger, the second film switched it up, making Schwarzenegger Sarah’s protector, guarding her and her son against a newer cyborg who is trying to kill them.
On its first release, Terminator 2: Judgement Day grossed over $519 million worldwide, a huge leap from the $78 million made by the first film.
