Founded in 1957, Morning Star Boys’ Ranch provides residential care for boys with behavioral challenges, offering a number of supportive resources for both boys and their families. With a focus on permanent healing and family reunification, the ranch offers individual and family counseling to help overcome challenges associated with adverse childhood experiences, maltreatment, and fetal exposure to drugs and alcohol. It promotes growth and healing in a compassionate environment, fulfilling educational, social, and emotional needs through its various programs.
The ranch’s educational resources include a remedial literacy program, as well as a dedicated school liaison. Each day, personal tutors are available to provide one-on-one instruction based on the boys’ individualized education plans. Morning Star also offers a variety of recreational enrichment activities, including an equine therapy program and agricultural projects in association with 4-H. The organization works to ensure a secure future for each boy that attends the ranch, maintaining a scholarship fund to assist former residents with future educational endeavors.
